Novak Djokovic today prevented Radek Stepanek from moving to the next round. Djokovic was made to toil hard by Czech Stephanek in a game that is said to be an entertaining contest by many. Stephanek, who was bidding to become the oldest man to reach the third round at the All England Club since 2007, tried practically every shot known to mankind but the top seeded player defeated him with a 6-4 6-3 6-7(5) 7-6(5) win.
Djokovic is set to meet Frenchman Gilles Simon in the third round. Meanwhile, Tomas Berdych dispatched Bernard Tomic with a 4-6, 7(7)-6(5), 7(7)-6(3), 6-1 win. Bulgarian Giorgio Dimitrov eases into the third round with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 win over Luke Saville. Seven seeded avid Ferrer lost a five-setter to rising Russian Andrey Kuznetsov for his earliest grand slam exit since Australian Open 2010.
