Wimbledon 2014 - Wawrinka, Tsonga, Nishikori and Giraldo eases into the next round

The Australian Open champion altered his misfortune at grass-court on Tuesday in his opening match against Joao Sousa with a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 6-3 win. Wawrinka struggled at the All England Club during his career, losing his opening match five times in nine visits but he delighted the crowd with sizzling forehands and backhands which proved too much for the Portuguese Sousa to handle. He fired 18 aces, several on second serves, as he moved through to face either Yen-Hsun Lu or Aleksandr Nedovyesov in the next round.
On another news, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga makes short of Jurgen Melzer after the rain interrupted match last night with 6-1 3-6 3-6 6-2 6-4, 10th seed Kei Nishikori beat Kenn De Schepper 6-4 7-7(5) 7-5 and Santiago Giraldo beat Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-1 7-5 6-0.
