Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been taken to hospital following his collision with Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez during their Premier League match on Sunday. The Belgian international, 22, suffered a head injury after an awkward clash with Chile star after 10 minutes of the match at Stamford Bridge.
He played on for 13 minutes but was substituted midway through the first half, apparently having suffered a concussion. The collision was accidental but, with Courtois reportedly bleeding from the ear, the former Atletico Madrid man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Courtois was replaced by Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech, who has won protective headgear for the past eight years after suffering a fractured skill in a collision with Reading's Stephen Hunt on October 14 2006.
This was really rush for the formed GK. Thibaut Courtois injury will be miserable one for the club. But, I am happy because I want to see Cech in the field more than the GK.
