Nadal beat Kevin Anderson in straight sets to advance into the Australian Open quarter-finals 7-5 6-1 6-4. Speaking after the game, Nadal said:
"It's special for me to get to the quarter-final following a tough period in my life. I'm very happy with the way I played today, it was my best match here and it was important for me to find my form. Kevin is a fantastic player. We've known each other since we were kids. The important thing, we're still smiling after 16 years"
Nadal will next play Tomas Berdych in the last eight competition.
