Basketball - Senegal expels Mouhammad Faye from AfroBasket 2015 for disciplinary reasons

Senegal forward Mouhammad Faye has been found guilty of an indiscipline by the Senegalese Basketball Federation resulting in his departure from Rades, Tunisia, where he was taking part in AfroBasket 2015. Faye, who only featured in Senegal's 77-71 win over Morocco last Tursday, returned to Senegal after he was said to have had an altercation with head coach Cheik Sarr.

The coach refused to provide information on the offence committed by Faye and which warranted the heavy penalty of expulsion from a championship as big as the AfroBasket. He told FIBA.com that it was a decision taken by the Senegal Basketball Federation.

"I've said I would rather not talk about the expulsion of Muhammad Faye from the team because he is also a Senegalese who has contributed immensely to the national team though there were issues and it is the decision of the federation to expel him from the championship," said Sarr.
Faye, 30, was reported to have been involved in a similar incident at AfroBasket 2011 in Madagascar.
