Iker Casillas breaks Champions League clean sheet record


With so much excitement from Arsenal defeating Bayern Munich yesterday night, forgot to praise FC Porto's goalkeeper Iker Casillas for keeping his 51st Champions League clean sheet.

Iker Casillas, who has three Champions League titles to his name from his time with Real Madrid surpassed Edwin Van der Sar with his 51st clean sheet in the Champions League to go clear in the all-time list.  See the top five goalkeepers with the clean sheet after the cut

51 - Iker Casillas (Real Madrid, FC Porto)
50 - Edwin Van der Sar (Ajax, Juventus, Manchester United)
45 - Victor Valdes (Barcelona)
45 - Petr Cech (Sparta Prague, Chelsea, Arsenal)
37 - Gianluigi Buffon (Parma, Juventus)

The FC Porto goalkeeper's shut-out in the 2-0 home win over Maccabi Tel Aviv saw him nudge clear of the former Ajax, Juventus and Manchester United goalkeeper.
