Fifa official connected to tout ring-Brazil police?

According to the Police in Rio de Janeiro, an alleged Fifa official helped a group of suspected scalpers in re-selling illegal World Cup tickets including some originally allocated to players. Fabio Barucke, a police investigator in charge of the case stated that during the course of an investigation earlier this week that led to the arrest of a ring of 11 suspected touts, the first name of the alleged Fifa official has been identified from telephone calls and it has been reported that the suspected official enjoys clearance for Fifa offices, stadiums and other administrative areas where he would have access to game tickets.

Fabio Barucke added that the official is not a Brazilian and is in the country only because of the World Cup. Meanwhile a spokeswoman for Fifa on Thursday said the organization, soccer's governing body, is yet to receive any information from police identifying the person. She added "given the number of third parties that operate in and around the World Cup the person may not even be employed by Fifa.
Police have said that they would provide the organization with a document with more details about the alleged official later Thursday.
