Asier Illarramendi have agreed to return to Real Sociedad on loan. The loan deal includes the option of making the transfer permanent for £11.7 million, a huge loss for Real Madrid who spent £23.6m when signing him from Sociedad in 2013.
Illarramendi was not included in Rafa Benitez’s 18-man squad for Real Madrid’s opening Liga match of the new campaign against Sporting Gijon. The move will be made official by both clubs imminently.
