Valencia coach Nuno has suggested Jeremy Mathieu is close to a move to Barcelona after the defender was left out of a friendly.
Nuno used 23 players in a 5-1 win over SpVgg Bayreuth, with Mathieu the only one of the first team squad not to get a run out. Nuno stated after the match that Mathieu was absent because of the interest of Barca in his captain. read Nuno statement after the cut.
"The thing about Mathieu is no secret . We know that he is wanted by a great club who are willing to pay the termination clause, for us the clause is non-negotiable. If there's a possibility (he could leave) we need to see other options and be prepared for that. We love Mathieu and believe he is the best center-back in the world, but these things happen." Sports reports Nuno as saying.
