Over a billion people across the world are expected to tune in to watch the opening ceremony of the 20th Commonwealth Games at Celtic Park, for what organizers have described as the most prestigious live event ever seen in Scotland.
Organizers have promised that the ceremony would have a distinctly Glaswegian feel and intend to show people around the world what Scotland people are made of while celebrating values of unity and diversity.
Dignitaries such as the Queen of England and the Duke of Edinburgh to formally open the event. Nicole Scherzinger, Sir Chris Hoy and Sir Alex Ferguson are among those promised to appear at the opening ceremony.
