The Uruguayan striker will not be presented at Barcelona's
Nou Camp stadium, since the conditions of his ban from football prevent
him from taking part in any football-related activity. He will however be permitted to complete a move said to be worth anything between £55 million and £75 million.Suarez
was on Monday's flight to Barcelona from Montevideo, accompanied by his
wife Sonia and children Delfina and Benjamin, according to Spanish
media reports.
He was then collected at the airport by his agent Pere Guardiola, who is brother of Bayern Munich boss - and former Barca coach - Pep Guardiola.FIFA president Sepp Blatter spoke in praise of Suarez on Monday despite his four-month ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini,
saying, "This player will come back to football on the pitch and what
he has shown on the pitch, we saw his tactical and technical capacity
and his smell for goal. I hope he will be back."
However, Blatter's next few words are sure to anger Liverpool fans: "He is now at one of the greatest clubs in the world.”
