Xabi Alonso and Diego Simeone gets one-match ban from UEFA


The ban was handed out to both individuals due to their misconduct during Real Madrid Champion League final win against Atletico in May.
Xabi Alonso has been banned from Real Madrid's next match for sprinting down the touchline while on suspension to celebrate Gareth's Bale goal. While Atletico coach, Diego Simeone also gets one-match ban for storming to the pitch to confront Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane. continue...


Alonso was banned for the match and as such could not be on the bench but when Gareth Bale scored what proved to be the winning goal, he ran down toward the touchline to celebrate with his team-mates.

Simeone went on the pitch twice during extra time of his team's loss 4-1 in May, and confronted Varane, who had kicked a ball toward the Atletico dugout after the last goal.
Atletico have been fined £16,500 and Real £14,250 for improper conduct by their players and for fans setting off fireworks.
