FIFA's medical committee will discuss Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's treatment of club doctor Eva Carneiro at their next meeting in September, according to the committee's chairman Michael D'Hooghe.
D'Hooghe said:
"I have put it on the agenda of the medical committee that takes place on September 11 in Zurich. This is once again an example of the difficult situation of the team doctor and I want to discuss this with my colleagues and to see if we need to give a declaration from the medical side to help team doctors.
The most important thing is if he arrives in a situation where he thinks he has to judge between his medical duty and other issues then he must not hesitate. You would expect me to support a team doctor. Such problems arise everywhere in the world but of course it has come up with Mourinho and Chelsea."
Chelsea have so far refused to comment on the incident apart from a written statement which confirmed Carneiro's indefinite demotion earlier this month.
