British number two Johanna Konta, believes that the key to qualifying for the US Open was keeping herself "in the present". Speaking to BBC Sport, she said:
"I've been keeping myself in the present so I haven't been counting the wins. I'm still here. I've just qualified for the US Open and I'm going to enjoy this for what it is. We work hard for these moments."
Konta will play against American Louisa Chirico in the first round.
