Arsenal, the first Premier League club to help the refugee crisis

Arsenal will donate £1 for every ticket sold during their match with Stoke City this weekend – to help the refugee crisis. The football world has been quick to offer support to people seeking refuge from war-torn areas in the Middle East and Africa, and Uefa are hopeful of raising around £2m after the first round of Champions League fixtures next week.

All 80 teams involved in this season’s competition have agreed to give £1 for every ticket sold on Matchday One to help the crisis, but Arsenal are the first Premier League club to help by giving ticket money from this weekend’s match. Wenger confirmed the news in his weekly press conference.
