John Isner has progressed to the third round of the US Open after a 6-3 6-4 6-4 victory over Mikhail Youzhny. The tall American broke Youzhny's serve in game six of the first set and, despite losing three set points, it was fourth time lucky as Isner took the first set.
Isner broke serve again in the second set, and saved a break point in the final game to double his lead.
