Manchester City valued higher than Arsenal and Tottenham combined

Reports stating that the combined spending of Arsenal and Tottenham on their first team squad is less than Manchester City. Arsenal are in fifth position with a squad that cost a total of €305 million, 13 per cent less than Liverpool and over €100 million below the cost of London rivals Chelsea, who occupy third place in the English standing behind the two Manchester sides.

Spurs are one spot below their local rivals but their €231 million transfer value shows how far they have slipped behind the five biggest spenders in the league.Whilst Real Madrid top the rankings for Europe’s highest spenders on €587 million the scale of transfer expenditure in the Premier League is made plain amongst the rest of London’s clubs.

Chelsea rank in fifth amongst the continent’s biggest leagues but West Ham, whose deadline day splurge on four players took their squad value to €143 million, have invested more in their side than European giants AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla.

Even European giants such as Bayern Munich and Juventus are not spending as much as Liverpool, whose €344 million of transfer spending is bettered on the continent by only Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Madrid.
