Good news for Rafa Benitez as James Rodriguez recovered from injury sooner than expected and is expected to be fit for this weekend's Madrid Derby. James had a great start to the new season, coming off the bench to greatly improve Real Madrid's performance away to Sporting Gijon, and scoring two crucial goals in the home win over Betis, but the midfielder picked up an injury during a game against Peru whilst on international duty with Colombia.
Benítez will have to decide whether to field the James from the start or put him on after the break. That will depend on whether the Real Madrid boss has Gareth Bale at his disposal for the match at the Calderón. The Welshman appears to have recovered from a calf injury, but unlike James, he remains a doubt for the derby game.
