Kwara United are yet to be paid their four months salary, six match bonuses, sign on fees for this season and 30% sign on fee from last season. The players, who are fighting relegation battle have now gone on strike to express their displeasure over their unpaid entitlements.
"We are on strike from today (Wednesday) due to unpaid entitlements.
We met with the permanent secretary of the sports ministry and she promised something will be done, up till now nothing. We are hungry and can't take care of our families again. We are being owed four months’ salary (June, July, August and September), six match bonuses, 100% sign on fee for this season and 30% sign on fee from last season. We know other workers in the state are been paid, why is our own different? We are begging Governor to do something. The lack of motivation is the main reason why the club is in the position we are now," one of the players informed AfricanFootball.com
Can the right authority please do something?
