Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has revealed his frustrations with being substituted this season by coach Rafa Benitez. Benzema has scored six goals in six la liga games this season but has surprisingly only played the full 90 minutes in one of Los Blancos' league fixtures this term. Benzema opened the scoring in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid before being subbed off late on and the 27-year-old has said that he is "fed up of being taken off". Continue after the cut
"Substitutions are what the coach decides, I'm just there to help my teammates. It's true I'm fed up of being taken off. I'm calm and will continue to work so I'm not always substituted. He took me off to get a result, for defensive reasons. It's true that the electronic board always shows the No.9. Ask Benitez why that is," Benzema told AS
Benzema was substituted when Real Madrid were still leading, but a late strike from Luciano Vietto levelled the scores at the Vicente Calderon.
