Athletics - Mo Farah targets first victory

Olympic, World and European champion Mo Farah wants to improve on last year's performance in Sunday's Great North Run.The 31-year-old lost in a sprint finish to Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele over the half-marathon course 12 months ago. This time, his biggest challenge is likely to come from Olympic marathon champion Stephen Kiprotich from Uganda. "Bekele had the edge over me last year but this time I am going out to try to win," said Farah. "Last year was a great race and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it should be exciting and I am happy to have home support."
